Troubleshooting - General First Steps*


If there is an image on the board, but things are not working correctly:
  • Check the cables
  • Check/re-seat the tools in the tray
  • Check/clean the tool tray sensors (gently - maybe a puff of air)
  • Unplug, pause, and then replug the USB cable (both ends, if possible)
  • Reset the board (soft = click and release)
  • Reset the board (hard = click and hold until toolbar flashes, release)
  • Restart the computer

If there is no image on board, and the status indicator light is solid green, touch the board while watching the computer monitor. If the computer reacts to your touch, look for video problems:

  • Projector turned on?
  • Projector in “hide” mode? (UF55)
  • Check VGA cable (connected? bent or broken pins?)
  • Check fn+F7 status and settings
  • Restart Computer

*Remember that you already have a full-time job, and that most of the Smart Boards you'll see are still under warranty. If quick, basic troubleshooting doesn't allow you to find and/or fix the problem, take the time to get a work order submitted - you can always cancel it when you get the thing working
